July 2, 2026 – The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has revised the placement of interpretive guidance and survey procedures for the End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) program to align with those for other provider types.
In addition, CMS has updated the guidance documents to incorporate statutory and regulatory changes to the Social Security Act (SSA) and the Conditions for Coverage (CfCs), as well as policy updates previously issued through QSO memos. These revisions consolidate important information into a single, accessible resource.

June 19, 2019 – On June 25, 2019, NDAC will be in Atlanta joining members of the “Making Dialysis Safer” coalition. This group includes individuals on dialysis and their care partners, dialysis providers and suppliers to that industry, nephrology professional organizations like the American Nephrology Nurses Association, the Renal Physicians Association, and the American Society of Nephrology as well as person who work in quality improvement personnel like ESRD Network staff members. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) initiated this Coalition three years ago to improve the safety of dialysis. While much of the work has focused improving infection control techniques and decreasing the risk of vascular access related infections, the Coalition also serves as a way to share new ideas and best practices.
